Nickel Plate Provincial Park is a quiet, semi-wilderness park just past Apex Mountain Village, built around glacier-carved Nickel Plate Lake. Summer brings hiking, swimming, paddling and fishing for stocked rainbow trout, with huge glacial boulders scattered along the north shore and Lookout Mountain rising nearby. In winter it turns to Nordic skiing, snowmobiling and ice fishing. The final stretch to the camping area is four-wheel drive only, so plan your vehicle accordingly.
