Gallagher's Canyon – Tree of Wisdom Trail (Jean Road Trails)

An easy web of forest trails off Jean Road that leads to a rocky outcrop above KLO Creek Canyon and the gnarled dead pine known as the Tree of Wisdom. A loop is about 5.5 km with under 300 m of climbing (about 1.5 hours), with a painted-turtle pond along the way. The trails are marked only by use, so a downloaded map helps. Dogs on leash; the south end borders private land at Myra Canyon Adventure Park.
