Sugar Lake 2 Mile Recreation Site

Sugar Lake is the big, cold Monashee lake behind Cherryville, and 2 Mile is its main campground: 62 open, level sites on the shore, a boat launch, and some of the best trout and char fishing in the North Okanagan an hour east of Vernon. It is large and easy to get into with a trailer, and it is strictly first come, first served — Recreation Sites and Trails BC spells out that no reservations exist for any Sugar Lake site — so for a summer weekend, arrive Thursday. The Gold Panner campground and Cherryville's store are back on Highway 6.
