Osoyoos Desert Centre

The Osoyoos Desert Centre is a 67-acre nature interpretive facility in Canada's pocket desert, and the way to see this rare ecosystem without trampling it: a 1.5 km boardwalk carries you through the desert habitat on guided or self-guided tours, with interpretive exhibits and native plant gardens at the centre. It is a seasonal operation with hours that change through the year — in fall it opens Wednesday to Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with last admission to the boardwalk at 1 p.m. — and admission is charged, so check the current schedule before you drive out.
