BEEPS – Peachland Bat Colony & BatCam
Up to a thousand female bats raise their pups each summer in the attic of Peachland's historic schoolhouse, and the Bat Education and Ecological Protection Society (BEEPS) streams them live on infrared BatCams. The volunteer-run society also holds summer bat counts on Friday evenings at dusk, when hundreds of bats stream out over the waterfront, plus talks and family events. It's a great stop for kids and nature lovers, in the same building as the Okanagan Folk School and Peachland Art Gallery; check their website for upcoming events.

Okanagan Folk School
The Okanagan Folk School sits in Peachland's restored historic schoolhouse on Beach Avenue, looking out over the lake. Its gift shop sells work by Okanagan artists, artisans and crafters, and it runs small hands-on classes, from stained glass and beading to fibre arts and storytelling, that change from month to month. It also hosts events, including a popular story slam. The building is shared with the Peachland Art Gallery and BEEPS, the local bat conservation society, so it's an easy stop for an afternoon in Peachland.
