Idleback Lake Recreation Site

Fifty minutes up into the Carmi hills from Penticton, Idleback Lake is the free campground locals keep for themselves: 21 well-spaced sites on the north shore under a canopy of larch that turns gold in October, a cartop launch on an electric-motor lake with a one-trout limit, and the kind of silence you cannot buy on Skaha. It is user-maintained, so bring water and take out everything; weekends and holidays fill, weekdays rarely do.
