Paradise Camp

Paradise Camp is SilverStar's backside lodge — a cosy, rustic cabin on the Putnam Creek side of the mountain between the Home Run Tee and the Powder Gulch Express, with views out to the Monashees and a reputation among skiers for its soups and its mountain stew made with wild meat (gluten-free and dairy-free changes carry a small upcharge, so ask first). By day it is the warm-up stop for anyone lapping the backside — the resort calls it an alpine retreat built for slowing down, with savoury comfort classics, 'playful warmers' and signature cinnamon buns that have their own following. After dark it becomes one of the resort's signature experiences: the Paradise Express snow cat carries guests over the mountain under the moonlight to a lantern-lit, three-course dinner at the camp — about half an hour each way and around three and a half hours all told, with seatings through the evening, a maximum of fourteen guests per trip and wine, beer and craft cocktails available to pair with the meal. On select nights the kitchen runs 'Flavours of the Alps' set menus with wine pairings for guests 19 and over. Dates and pricing for the coming winter are announced by the resort and booked through Guest Services, with meal choices taken at the time of booking and no same-day reservations.
