SilverStar Snowshoe Trails

Sixteen kilometres of singletrack snowshoe trail weave through SilverStar's forest and the lower cross-country country, and they are the slow, quiet way to see the mountain: no lift lines, no learning curve, just the crunch of snow under your feet and the trees closing in around you. Trails range in difficulty and are marked with hand-carved wooden signs and reflective markers, so you can be out in the early evening blue light without losing your way, and there are two trailheads — one at the village and one at the Adventure Park by Brewer's Pond — so you can start from wherever you are staying or playing. Dogs are welcome on all the snowshoe trails on a leash, which makes this the best outing on the mountain for the family member who can't ski. Snowshoeing is one of the seven activities on the resort's My1Pass, or buy a trail ticket on its own, and snowshoe rentals are available in the village. The resort's Nordic team surveys the trails weekly; pick up a trail map, go at your own pace, and finish at Tube Town Café or the pond.
