Goats Peak Regional Park

Goats Peak rises steeply from the shore of Okanagan Lake in West Kelowna, and the payoff for the climb is a lookout with stunning lake and valley views beside towering rock bluffs. A rocky trail crosses protected grassland before a challenging climb through open woodland to the peak; the waterfront sections of this 63-hectare park are conservation areas for shore-spawning kokanee. A washroom is on site and dogs are welcome on leash. Park in the lot off Seclusion Bay Road, near the exits for Highway 97 and the Okanagan Connector, or use the newer access with limited street parking on Whitworth Road. Hours shift seasonally, from 6 a.m. to between 6 and 11 p.m., with reduced maintenance from November 1 to April 1. Two designated trails cover the park: the 1.3 km Big Sagebrush Trail through the grassland, rated moderate, and the 1.4 km Mountain Goat Trail up to the peak, rated difficult by the Regional District.
