Apex Mountain Summit Trail
Example photoOutdoor Destination · Apex
Dog-Friendly Free to Visit
An out-and-back hike from the Winters Creek parking area on the Hedley-Nickel Plate Road, through the Nickel Plate Nordic trails and up a service road to the top of Apex Mountain, with layer-on-layer views of the backcountry mountains. It's about 12.6 km return with 520 m of climbing (3.5 to 5 hours). It isn't signed as a hiking route and snow lingers late, so go from summer to early fall. Dogs on leash.
