Thomas Hayes Ecological Reserve Trails

The Thomas Hayes Ecological Reserve is the rare ecological reserve with sanctioned walking trails: two easy loops through the wetlands and open country southwest of Armstrong near Otter Lake, the 4.3 km Coyote Loop and the 1.7 km White Tail Wander. It is a bird-watching walk more than a climb, and the Township of Spallumcheen lists it among the area's trails. The trailhead is on Hayes Road, about 7 km southwest of downtown Armstrong. Because this is an ecological reserve, stay on the marked trails and leave nothing behind. No dogs are allowed on the trails.
