Baldy Snowshoe Trails

Baldy's snowshoe trails are the quiet side of the South Okanagan's ski hill: about 13 kilometres of marked trail, by the resort's count, threading the high forest around the day lodge at 1,726 metres, where the same dry, light powder that draws skiers piles up on the branches and muffles everything. The network is laid out for explorers of varying abilities, from gentle wanders to longer loops with views over the valley toward the desert country, and because it sits at elevation the snow is reliable from around November to April. You can go your own way with the resort's snowshoe map, rent snowshoes from the rental team if you don't have your own, or ask about a guided tour — the resort's guides will take you out and show you the mountain from the trees. It is a genuinely family-friendly outing and an easy add-on to a day when only some of your group wants to ride the lifts, with the Corduroy Café and the Baldy Bar in the lodge for the warm-up afterwards. Baldy is about 45 minutes from Oliver up a road that turns to gravel near the top, so bring winter tyres, and check the resort's opening dates for the coming season before you go.
