Kalamalka Lake Provincial Park – Cosens Bay

Cosens Bay is the earned beach of Kalamalka Lake Provincial Park: boat in, or bike or hike a 6 km trail to reach it, and that is exactly why people go. Once there, a buoyed swim area waits in the bay and there is plenty of space to stretch out, with a pet beach at the eastern end for your four-legged family member. It is a popular destination for boaters. There are no lifeguards, so bring what you need and plan the trip back. The walk in is the reason naturalists love this park: more than 14 km of trails cross a rare intact grassland where 432 kinds of plants have been recorded, canyon wrens and white-throated swifts nest in the cliffs, and the Rattlesnake Point trail ends at a viewing platform with eight benches turned toward the spectacular view over the lake. Pit toilets only, maintained April to late October.
