Saunas, Spas & Warm Soaks for Cold Days

When the valley turns grey and cold, a bit of real heat goes a long way. Around the Okanagan you can sit in a cedar sauna on the lake, work through a hot-and-cold circuit, or take the kids for a swim and slip into the hot tub yourself.

Here's where to warm up, from saunas built for an evening with friends to the community pools with a hot tub and steam room. Each place shows its town.

Floating saunas on the lake

  • Löyly Floating Sauna (Kelowna): a Finnish-style cedar sauna floating at Kelowna's Downtown Marina, with a lake cold plunge and a warm solarium lounge overlooking Okanagan Lake. Book a shared 80-minute community session or take over the whole sauna with friends.
  • Shelter Floating Sauna (Penticton): a cedar sauna floating on Okanagan Lake at the Lakeside Resort marina, where you cycle between heat, a cold plunge in the lake and rest. Join a shared social session or book the whole sauna privately for up to eight people.

Bathhouses and thermal spas

  • Tality Wellness Kelowna (Kelowna): a downtown social bathhouse with a 20-person cedar sauna, four cold plunges and a lounge around a vapour firepit, with robes, towels and kombucha included. Book a shared community session or a private group slot.
  • Cleopatra's Rituals Thermal Spa and Steam (Kelowna): a thermal spa with a hot-cold circuit of sauna, steam, thermal showers and a falling-snow room. Book a Thermal Ritual session solo, or reserve the space for a private group.

Pools with a hot tub, sauna or steam room

  • H2O Adventure + Fitness Centre (Kelowna): a YMCA-run indoor waterpark with waterslides, a FlowRider, wave pool, lazy river and splash park. A go-to for families on a cold or rainy day, with a hot tub and steam room for grown-ups.
  • Vernon Aquatic Centre (Vernon): a warm leisure pool with a waterslide, rapids channel, rope swing, climbing wall and bubble pit, plus a sauna, steam room and hot tub.
  • Penticton Community Centre (Pool & Lazy River) (Penticton): a leisure pool with a lazy river, spray features and a waterslide, and a big whirlpool, sauna and steam room for warming up on a cold day.
  • Johnson Bentley Memorial Aquatic Centre (West Kelowna): an indoor pool with slides, a rope swing, a warm soaking pool, a hot tub and a steam room. Public swim sessions run daily.
  • Summerland Aquatic & Fitness Centre (Summerland): an indoor pool and hot tub, celebrating 50 years in 2026, with evening and weekend public swims. Drop-in admission is inexpensive, and families get a combined rate.
