The Dominion Radio Astrophysical Observatory (DRAO) is the National Research Council's radio telescope site in the White Lake valley, where free one-hour guided tours explain how its giant dishes and the CHIME telescope listen to the universe. There's no booking; tours are first-come, first-served, and the season wraps up in early November. Plan to switch off your phone and other electronics, which can disrupt the instruments. A fascinating, free outing for curious kids and science fans.
