Kangaroo Creek Farm

Kangaroo Creek Farm is the Okanagan's one genuinely surprising animal encounter: a working farm on Old Vernon Road, a few minutes north of Kelowna's airport, where red kangaroos and wallabies lounge in open paddocks you can walk straight into. Feeding the animals and holding a joey are included in the admission — there is no extra charge — and the cast runs well beyond the kangaroos, with common wallaroos, Bennett's, dama and albino wallabies, emus, peacocks, goats, parrots, potbellied pigs and a family of capybaras. The 2026 season runs from June 27 to October 12: daily 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. through September 7, daily 10 to 3 for the rest of September, and Saturdays, Sundays and Thanksgiving Monday in October, with last entry at 2:45 p.m. High-season admission (to September 7) is $30 for adults and youth 16 to 64, $15 for children 5 to 15 and $15 for seniors, with children four and under free; from September 8 the rates drop to $20, $10 and $10. Debit, cash, Visa and MasterCard are accepted, and wheelchair users and Access 2 cardholders enter free, though be aware the paths are gravel, dirt and grass. Dogs are not allowed in the animal enclosures (leashed dogs may wait in the picnic area), commercial groups and schools book by email, and the farm asks drivers to avoid the left turn onto Highway 97 at the uncontrolled intersection when leaving.
