High Rim Trail: Beaver Lake Road to Oyama Lake Road

A rugged 12 km backcountry section of the Okanagan High Rim Trail through Wrinkly Face Provincial Park, crossing fragile alpine meadows on top of basalt cliffs, with Shorts Canyon, Eddie's Viewpoint, the Monolith glacial erratic, Hayhurst Lake and old-growth forest. It's unmaintained and rated most difficult; follow the pink and black markers, and expect no cell service. Start at the trailhead kiosk on Beaver Lake Road, about 12 km from Highway 97, where parking is limited.
