Hillview is Vernon's go-to for a fast, walkable round that still asks questions of your short irons. The 18-hole, par-56 executive layout stretches just 3,300-plus yards, weaving through eight interconnected ponds and a stream that come into play again and again; even the reachable holes demand precision, not power. It's an easy course to recommend to beginners and anyone short on time, but the four par-3s, including a closing hole stretching 225 yards to a green fronted by water, will test better players too. On site, Vernon's longest driving range gives room to work on full swings, the pro shop stocks the major brands, and PGA professional lessons are available for every level.
