Denison Lake Trail

Denison Lake Trail leads into Denison-Bonneau Provincial Park, a pocket of pristine subalpine lakes and old-growth forest in the Okanagan Highlands east of Lumby. Tourism Vernon rates the full 9.8 km route Moderate: walk about 2.5 km up an old spur road, then a lollipop loop through shaded forest, over a bridge on Creighton Creek and across a swampy stretch on old logs to the lake, where there are picnic spots, an outlet waterfall and a rock pile with views; an alternate, more open route returns to the road. BC Parks describes the in-park segment as a 2 km hiking trail that begins outside the park boundary off the Bonneau Lake Forest Service Road. From Highway 6 turn right on Creighton Valley Road, then right on Bonneau Lake FSR; after 6 km the trailhead is an old spur road on the right, with a larger parking area 400 metres further on. There is no park signage until you are inside, and poles help on the log crossings. Pets must be on a leash at all times.
