Monashee Lake Trail

Through meadow and cedar rainforest and up rock ramparts to Monashee Lake, with an optional climb to Sunny Peak (2,383 m) above deep-blue Riloux Lake. It's about 9.5 km with 700 m of climbing (about 5 hours) and very steep past the ramparts. Access is up the South Fork Forest Service Road, 1.5 km past the Gold Panner; high-clearance vehicle, July to September. It's in the Monashee backcountry about 65 to 70 km east of Lumby, near Cherryville.
