Bear Creek Provincial Park

Bear Creek gives you 400 metres of coarse-sand beach on the west side of Okanagan Lake, across the water from Kelowna, with a buoyed swim area and the kind of facilities that make a long day easy: a change house, accessible flush toilets, a concession and a dozen shaded picnic tables. An 80-vehicle lot handles the summer traffic. Dogs are not allowed on the beach and there are no lifeguards. The campground operates from March 20 to October 12, 2026. Behind the beach is one of the Okanagan's best-loved provincial campgrounds: 143 sites, 55 of them with electrical hook-ups, with hot showers, flush toilets, well water, a sani-station and fire rings, and reservations required through BC Parks in the peak season (first-come outside it). The one-hour Bear Creek Canyon Trail loops above the creek to viewpoints over the canyon and the lake to Knox Mountain, and the cottonwood delta is alive with swallows, hawks and, after dark, owls and coyotes.
